Disk utility mac boot. Sometimes, the reason for MacBook Pro DVD drive not working or iMac DVD player not working is so simple: too much dust on the lens. Jeff mac designs. Honestly, this 'bug' can be easily fixed without re-purchasing the replacement of superdrive: apply a special CD lens cleaner or a minute brush to clean the left side of DVD drive (the lens should be at the left. Sometimes when i put a disc in the imac it won't recognize it. When it does this I can't eject it or anything. I have to restart the machine. It does this on cdr's, dvd's or install discs. To eject the CD i've tried: holding down the trackpad while rebooting resetting the power drives pressing the eject button repeatedly AND yes.shaking my MacBook and then pressing eject sadly none of the above has worked by now i've figured out that the main problem is not that the cd is stuck, but that the MacBook does not recognize the drive. If you've put the CD in the computer's drive but it isn't being recognized, please try the following solutions: Eject the CD and check the shiny side for dust/scratches. If it's dirty, clean it with a soft cloth, then try the CD again. Insert the CD into the drive-wait 10 seconds. Mac OS X: You'll see the CD drive appear on your desktop.

Well, my mac was acting up so I put in the Mac Disk 1 install cd to try and repair or see what was the problem because my Disk Utility wasn't working on my other user account on this mac. I had a white screen for about ever did the alt-cmd-p-r and still a white screen, so I held option and nothing worked same with holding c while the disk was in. left it unplugged for about 30 mins and it decided to work(boot up past white screen) Well now Im trying to get my Mac Disk out of the cd thing on the side and nothing works.
These are the things I've tried.
Eject on keyboard
alt+eject
iTunes eject
Disk Utility to eject but it was telling me there was no cd in to eject.
So Im stuck what to do fairly new to Mac but I have an Intel Mac 2.8Ghz if that's any help.
